The Meal:
Main Dish: Ziti (Baked)
Side Dish: Zucchini Bread
Recipe:
Ingredients:
Ziti Noodles:
- 1 box of Ziti noodles
- 1/2 cup of shredded cheese
- 1 cup of pasta sauce
Zucchini Bread:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 1/4 cups white sugar
- 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups grated zucchini
“Z” Cookies:
- Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Any color icing (or black and white icing to create “Zebra” cookies
Cooking Directions:
Ziti Directions:
- Cook Ziti according to box
- Drain, and add into a cooking pan
- Cover with sauce and cheese
- Pop it in the oven at 300 degrees for about 10 minutes or until Cheese is sufficiently melted
Zucchini Bread Directions:
- Grease and flour two 8 x 4 inch pans. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
- Sift flour, salt, baking powder, soda, and cinnamon together in a bowl
- Beat eggs, oil, vanilla, and sugar together in a large bowl. Add sifted ingredients to the creamed mixture, and beat well. Stir in zucchini and nuts until well combined. Pour batter into prepared pans
- Bake for 60 minutes, or until tester inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan on rack for 20 minutes. Remove bread from pan, and completely cool
Outcome:
The Zucchini Bread is a great opportunity to get your kid to eat something somewhat healthy :). I actually tell them its a kind of cake, and they eat it up. I did the cookies with the icing because it’s an easy, no mess way to include the kids in the preparation. They had fun putting the icing on, and even more fun eating it. It was also great writing practice for them!

Main Dish: Yellow Chicken
Side Dish: Yellow Corn
Dessert: Yellow Cake Snicker-doodles
Recipe:
Ingredients:
Yellow Chicken:
- 4 Chicken Breasts
- 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
- 1 Teaspoon of Ground Turmeric
- 1 Teaspoon of Mustard Powder
- 1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder
- 2 Teaspoons of Brown Sugar
- 1 Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
Yellow Cake Snicker-Doodles:
- 1 box of Yellow Cake mix
- 2 Eggs
- 1/4 cup f Vegetable Oil
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
Cooking Directions:
Yellow Chicken:
- Place chicken breasts in a cooking dish
- Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well
- Brush sauce over chicken (both sides)
- Bake in oven covered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes and then uncovered for 15 more minutes
Yellow Cake Snicker-doodles:
- In a bowl, mix cake mixture, eggs and oil well
- in a separate bowl mix sugar and cinnamon
- Roll dough into 1 inch balls and roll balls into sugar topping
- Place on a cookie sheet
- Bake in the oven at 375 degrees for about 10-14 minutes
Outcome:
Yellow was the theme here 🙂 And this night was big for me. I NEVER EVER eat mustard (I wont even touch it), and I ate this chicken….and liked it. My kids also ate every last piece. The Cookies were really easy to make, making them a must for moms short on time!

Dessert: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Cookie Brownies
Recipe:
Ingredients:
Ravioli:
- I cooked it from a pre-made frozen batch
- Pasta Sauce
Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Cookie Brownies:
- 1 batch of pre-made chocolate chip cookies
- 12 Reeses Peanut Butter Cups
- 1 Brownie Mix (oil, eggs, water)

Cooking Directions:
Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Cookie Brownies:
- Press cookies down in each square
- Put a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup in each square upside down
- Mix Brownies according to box and pour into each square- filling to the top
- Bake in oven at 350 degrees for about 18 minutes
Outcome:
Did someone say the best dessert of my life? Yes, that’s right. Basically, all of my favorite desserts in one. You can’t go wrong. Do it, I promise you won’t regret a second of biting into that chocolatey, gooey, peanut-buttery taste of heaven.

The Meal: 
Main Dish: Orange Chicken (Baked)
Side Dish: Onion Rings and Orange Slices
Dessert: Oreo Cookie Ice Cream Pie
Recipe:
Ingredients:
Orange Chicken (Baked):
- 8 Chicken Breasts (cut into small pieces)
- 1 cup of Orange Juice
- 1 tbl. spoon of Soy Sauce
- 1 envelope of Onion Soup Mix
- 1/2 t.spoon of Garlic Powder
- 1/2 cup of Brown Sugar
- 1 tbl. spoon of Orange Zest
- Honey
- 2 Eggs
Onion Rings:
- I used a frozen package and followed directions on the bag.
Oreo Cookie Ice Cream Pie:
- 1 package of Rich’s Whip (defrosted)
- 1 container (16 ounce) of vanilla Ice Cream
- 1/2 package of Oreos
- Graham Cracker pie crust
Cooking Directions:
Orange Chicken Directions:
- In a bowl mix the orange juice, soy sauce, onion soup mix, zest, garlic powder, and brown sugar.
- In a small bowl, beat 2 eggs
- Dip each chicken piece in the egg and then place in a baking pan
- Pour blended zest mix over all the chicken
- Squeeze a bit of honey over chicken
- Bake in oven at 350 degrees for one hour
Oreo Cookie Ice Cream Pie Directions:
- In a bowl whip up defrosted whip with an electric handmixer
- Slowly empty ice-cream into bowl, and continue stirring
- Hand crush Oreos into bowl and continue mixing with hand mixer
- Place in freezer until hardened
Outcome:
I usually don’t like overly spicy things, so I made up this Orange Chicken Recipe. It comes out really nice, but you definitely taste the zest! The onion rings are perfect because they are in the shape of an “O” and the kids thought that was hilarious! If you haven’t tried the Oreo Ice Cream dessert, you are really missing out…. it’s so super easy to make, and so super easy to finish off :).

The Meal: 
Side Dish: Kernel Corn
Dessert: Kids Homemade Cookies
Recipe:
Ingredients:
Kabobs:
- A package of 6-8 small steaks
- 1/2 cup of Teriyaki Sauce
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Season-All Salt
- BBQ Sauce
- 1 yellow pepper
- 1 green pepper
Kernel Corn:
- 3 cans of Kernel Corn (easy as that :))
Cookies:
- I used this recipe (minus the walnuts)
Cooking Directions:
Kabob Directions:
- Cut meat into 1 in cubes
- Place into a foil pan
- Sprinkle Onion, Garlic and Season-All on each piece (both sides)
- Pour teriyaki sauce over all pieces
- Brush BBQ sauce over each piece
- Cover with foil and refrigerate for a couple of hours
- When ready to cook, cut peppers into small square pieces
- Start placing meat and peppers on skewers alternating between the three foods
- Grill until the meat is no longer pink on the inside
Outcome:
Loved this one! It especially went over well with the hubby. My daughter who has never even touched a kabob before, finished hers up in seconds.
